The biggest issue raised by local residents in my survey recently was the state of the local roads. Since then I’ve been reporting the worst roads to the council and asking for repairs. I have been told today that the string of potholes in Gillott Road have been scheduled for repair by the 4th of April.
The Lib Dems care about our built environment. Last year, as part of the coalition that runs Birmingham City Council, we signed a 20 year contract with roads contractor Amey. All of Birmingham’s roads will be brought up to standard over the next 5 years and will be maintained at that standard for the following 15 years. This will bring to an end the endless patching of Birmingham’s deteriorating roads.
